Our Foundation

Presbyterian Homes and Services Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) is organized and operated for the benefit of Presbyterian Homes and Services of Kentucky, Inc., a charitable, not for profit corporation in a covenant ministry relationship with the Presbyteries of Kentucky (Mid-Kentucky, Transylvania and Western Kentucky). We are a company dedicated to promoting the health and welfare of each person with whom we associate.

The Foundation’s business and affairs are managed by a Board of Trustees. The Foundation is charged with the responsibility of obtaining voluntary contributions and managing the financial assets that enhance our ministry of caring for older adults.

Your contributions to the Foundation help us provide community and better serve our residents.

Gifts to the Foundation support:

Caring Hands Fund

Often older adults outlive their personal resources. This Fund assures that all residents receive the same quality of care regardless of personal financial circumstances.

Program Support

Donors may contribute at any time to specific activities or programs.

Capital Support

Supports specific physical plant improvements or expansion for our campuses and programs.

Endowment Support

Funds contributed are permanently invested to provide income for the long-term benefit of our operations. These gifts can be restricted to a particular campus, program or fund.

Gift Property

The Foundation also accepts the following types of property as gifts:

  • Cash and cash equivalents
  • Marketable securities
  • Marketable real estate
  • Marketable personal property
  • Life insurance policies
  • Individual retirement account plan assets
  • Gifts-in-kind

We encourage you to consider how you can use a variety of gifting options to achieve your philanthropic goals. We will gladly meet with you to explore any of the following options:

Outright Gift

Any immediate asset, including cash, securities, real estate or other tangible property, and life insurance policies.

Wills

Through a bequest or a codicil, donors can direct a gift to a purpose that most interests them. Again, these can be unrestricted, or restricted to specific purposes. They can be given as a specific amount, a percentage of an estate, or the residual of an estate that remains after all other provisions are fulfilled.

Life Insurance

This can be a new policy purchased specifically as a gift or assigning an existing policy to the Foundation. With either option, the Foundation becomes the owner of the policy as well as the beneficiary

Annuities and Trusts

We will work with your Financial Advisor to assist you in making choices related to establishing Gift Annuities and Trusts. Some options are a Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust, Charitable Remainder Unitrust, Charitable Lead Trust, Revocable Charitable Trust and Testamentary Life Income Gifts.
