The rehabilitation team works closely with therapy patients and their families to reach maximum potential and achieve an optimal level of independence.
Occupational therapy services are offered to promote or maintain the skills necessary to live with the highest quality of life and independence as possible. Working with residents, family and team members, occupational therapists develop the residents’ ability to compensate and adapt skills to safely enhance function and quality of life.
Our occupational therapy program helps residents to perform all types of activities, including cooking, bathing, dressing, eating and using a computer. Utilizing physical exercises to build strength and dexterity, as well as, other activities to help improve visual acuity, motor skills, and hand-eye coordination are typical priorities in the course of therapy. In addition, computer programs can help develop decision-making, problem solving, reasoning, memory, and perceptual skills.
These services are offered on both an inpatient and outpatient basis at two of our communities: in Louisville, Elizabethtown and on an inpatient basis at the community in Phelps, Kentucky.
