The Senior Q was a great success.  The residents and their families had a fun time visiting and eating.  The children enjoyed jumping in the bouncy house, playing games and watching Jason Jones, Helmwood’s executive director, get dunked in the dunking booth.  The dunking booth and cake walk together raised $236.75, which will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Walk.
All day long we were tempted by the wonderful smells of barbecue smoking.  The men (and a couple women) of First Presbyterian Church joined Alan Winkenhofer of Wink’s Smokehouse in providing the wonderful main dish for our supper.  In the barbecue judging contest the pork won out over the chicken and brisket once again this year.
Special guests included Elizabethtown mayor Tim Walker, entertainer Donna Mason, and leaders from our company’s home office. We also appreciate the extra assistance provided by nursing students from Elizabethtown Community College.
All in all, the event provided a perfect summer celebration.  Thanks to all who took part!
