Though assistance with activities of daily living is provided in the privacy of the residents’ own apartment, there are plenty of opportunities to visit with friends as well. Rocking chairs on a covered veranda invite lively conversations or quiet moments with a good book.
An enclosed courtyard provides a secure area for strolls among beautifully landscaped gardens. An on-site library provides computer access for correspondence with loved ones and the opportunity to continue lifelong learning via the internet.
Assistance with activities of daily living is provided in the privacy of the resident’s own apartment, and housekeeping and personal linen services are also available.
Each apartment home features a kitchenette that is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave.
Residents of Cedar Creek enjoy a peace of mind that comes only from living in a safe environment. In addition to secured entrances throughout the home, each apartment is equipped with front door locks and a personal security system that alerts staff to emergency needs. Lifeline, a personal emergency call system, is included in our service.
Residents who enjoy entertaining family and friends will appreciate Cedar Creek’s overnight guest accommodations. They also will welcome the opportunity to reserve private dining and social areas for personal gatherings.

While Cedar Creek’s tranquil surroundings suggest a secluded location, the community is located in one of Pikeville’s finest residential neighborhoods, a short distance from churches, grocery stores, pharmacies, hair salons and much more. Scheduled transportation makes access to these services, as well as participation in planned social outings, easy and convenient.

Resident Testimonial:
God’s providential leading is awesome and amazing!!
In the summer of 2004 my son, Dan and wife Barbara brought me to visit Mrs. Leo Cline at Cedar Creek Assisted Living Residence. I had known Leo for many years. While my husband and I lived in Naples, FL we drove back and forth from our Florida home to our old family house in NY every year, stopping off for a visit at Camp Nathanael in Knott County, KY where my son has been business manager for 40 years. Leo had been a faithful member there for a very long time and I looked forward to seeing her again.
The beautiful setting of the Cedar Creek home really impressed me and I was so pleased to see the lovely front porch and walk through the attractive welcoming doors. During our visit Sharon Hall, the director gave us a tour of the building and we remarked that we were glad it wasn’t one of those huge impersonal facilities.
As I needed a walker to get around I was delighted there were no stairs to climb and fell in love with the cozyness and charm of the place, even thinking of the type of apartment I would choose. I asked questions and took the brochure because I said that if, sometime in the future years to come I might need assisted living I would like to be in a place like Cedar Creek.
My husband had died in 2002 and I was now living in Hindman, KY to be nearer to my son and his family. Well, those ”future years” became my “right now” when I had an accident on Nov. 29, 2004 making it necessary for me to go into, assisted living. My family and I were so thankful that the foundation for that had already been laid and on Dec. 17, 2004 I moved into my lovely deluxe studio apartment.
The kind friendly attitude of Sharon and all the staff members here made me feel very welcome. I have made good friends, been well taken care of, really enjoy the planned activities and in the three years I’ve been here I have sensed a real feeling of contentment.
Every morning I give thanks to God for leading me to Cedar Creek and I look forward to another happy day.

Cedar Creek Assisted Living (Pikeville)
Welcome to Cedar Creek!
Cedar Creek is an assisted living facility nestled in the beautiful mountains of Pikeville, Kentucky. It is a home that is a special blessing to families who seek a safe and secure environment for loved ones during their latter years. We have often been complimented on our personal service and “down home atmosphere”. The ‘southern-style’ of our building is relaxed and lovely, with a front porch complete with rockers and a back porch with swings. Our residents love the porches and the patio; whether taking a stroll, rocking or listening to the birds sing.
When I was restless to do something different in my life, little did I know that Cedar Creek would become my place of ministry. Having been born and reared in Pikeville, with my daughter and I being third and fourth generation alumni of Pikeville College, this area is home to me. My professional work, as well as my volunteer work with various organizations, has all unfolded in Pikeville. I am privileged to have been the Executive Director at Cedar Creek since November 1st, 2001, with our doors opening on March 1, 2002. The years since have been a blessing.
Please feel free to stop by anytime. We’d be please to welcome you home!
