Judy FurnishJudy Furnish
Executive Director
Presbyterian Homes of Louisville

Judy Furnish came to Presbyterian Homes with a rich and varied background and enthusiastically has assumed the responsibilities as Executive Director. Originally joining the PHSK community as Program Director for Better Day, an Alzheimer’s day program in 2006, she has also lent her talents to PHSK by working as Volunteer Coordinator and musician for the Pastoral Care Department, and Director of Assisted Living.

Prior to coming to Presbyterian Homes, Judy handled the accounting (accounts receivable, payable and payroll) for a 400 member country club, with a staff of 90. She also has an impressive background in music. Judy sang for three years with notable companies such as San Francisco Opera, Pittsburg Opera, Kentucky Opera and Opera Theatre of Lucca, Italy. In this work, she learned to play various roles with numerous singers, various directors and worked with a plethora of conductors around the globe. Understandably, she has remained eager to ensure that music remains a vital part of life in the Presbyterian Homes community and she has also served as the Music Director of Meadowview Presbyterian Church for 5 years.

As Executive Director, Judy has a strong desire to make the world of Presbyterian Homes a place of delight for the older adults who live there. By providing compassionate leadership, she will encourage staff members to join her in this ministry, wholeheartedly serving our residents.

Judy and her husband live in LaGrange, Kentucky, with their young son. She is also a true animal lover and happy to share her home with numerous cats and dogs, as well.

Bill TaylorBill Taylor
Healthcare Administrator
Presbyterian Homes of Louisville

Mr. Bill Taylor has recently joined Presbyterian Homes of Louisville as Healthcare Administrator as he adds his talents and energies to the senior leadership team of that campus. Having worked in the health care industry for 15 years, Bill has a history of developing strong, stable organizational teams within the health care industry while fostering financial growth, regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction.

Bill is a Kentucky boy, who grew up in Pike County playing high school football and excelling in academics. He attended University of Kentucky for a brief time and graduated from Transylvania University with a degree in Business Administration. Though he worked in nursing homes in Milford and Gallipolis, OH; it did not take long for Bill to return to Kentucky as a nursing home administrator and is delighted, now, to join the community at Presbyterian Homes.

Bill has two children, Nathan, 11, and Shelby, 7. His interest in sports continues as he is an active volunteer in his church in the Elementary and Sports Ministries.

Ms. Chris StottMs. Chris Stott
Director of Nursing
Presbyterian Homes of Louisville

Chris Stott, R.N. serves as the Director of Nursing for Presbyterian Homes of Louisville. Though she began her nursing career as a certified nursing assistant and unit secretary, Chris came to Presbyterian Homes in 1999 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She has served this community in a variety of supervisory nursing positions, even while she was completing her work to become a Registered Nurse. Chris’s long and committed work at Presbyterian Homes has been to build a positive environment of compassionate care and superior service. This made her the perfect candidate to assume the responsibilities of the Director of Nursing, when offered the position in August of 2008.

Chris considers resident centered care to be her primary focus and works alongside her staff to provide such to all residents of Presbyterian Homes. The joy in her work comes in connection with the residents and their families and she works tirelessly to improve the health and quality of their lives. In her own words, “The most satisfying part of my work is making a difference: seeing someone smile; witnessing a resident who has been unable to speak, speak for the first time after the trach is removed; or seeing a resident who refused to get out of bed for 2 years now walking, cooking, smiling. When someone comes in the door for rehabilitation or long-term care, whether or not they have family, they become part of the Presbyterian Homes family.”

Chris and her husband, Malcolm, have three children and one grandchild.

Rev. Judy HockenberryRev. Judy Hockenberry
Executive Chaplain
Presbyterian Homes of Louisville

Rev. Judy Hockenberry has served as an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church, USA, for twenty-two years. She joined the staff of Presbyterian Homes of Louisville in 2007 as Executive Chaplain. Prior to entering the ministry, she worked as a social worker and in the insurance industry. Though she has worked as a parish pastor and in the denominational offices, Judy claims that her work at Presbyterian Homes to be the most joy-filled work that she has done in all her years of ministry. “I enjoy leading worship and Bible studies. I feel privileged and humbled when I am called to the bedside of a dying resident and have an opportunity to pray with that resident and their family. My favorite part of this job is listening to the stories of the lives of these amazing people. The grace of God is evident in every lined face that I meet.”

Judy understands her role within the PHSK household to be one of “torch-bearer” of our mission statement. With God’s help, she works with both residents and staff, providing compassionate care and superior service in whatever way will best meet the need that come to her door or meets her in the hallway or resident rooms of this amazing community. She and her husband, Ken, are parents of three children.
