Jason L. Jones assumed the responsibilities of Executive Director of Helmwood Healthcare Center in August of 2009. He brings enthusiasm and energy as he seeks to build a community that cares well for its residents and employees.

Jason most recently served as an administrator in nursing homes near Charleston, West Virginia and Salyersville, Kentucky.
Jason and his wife, Leah Beth, are delighted to be returning to Kentucky and making their home in Elizabethtown. They have one young daughter, Natalie, and extended family scattered throughout the state. In his spare time, Jason is an avid fan of college basketball and football.
Carrie Robinson RN
Director of Nursing
Helmwood Healthcare Center
Carrie Robinson, RN, serves as Director of Nursing at
Helmwood Healthcare Center. Having worked as a floor nurse, and as Assistant Director of Nursing, Carrie is very familiar with life at Helmwood. She brings to her work a strong commitment to the residents as well as the ability to develop good rapport with staff members. It is a joy to have her in this role.
Carrie grew up in Elizabethtown. After attending the University of Kentucky for two years, Carrie studied at Spencerian College where she acquired her training as a registered nurse. She began her work as a LPN providing direct care and has worked in long term care for six years. When asked what she enjoys most about working in the field of geriatrics, she names the satisfaction of “giving back” to the older generation. “Their generation has worked so hard,” she says. “They have provided for their families, and I like being able to care for them in return.” Carrie came to Helmwood from a larger healthcare center. “I like the smaller setting, the family feel.”
Carrie and her husband Travis have a daughter, 8, and a son, 5, and are soon expecting the birth of another daughter. Aside from work, Carrie enjoys supporting her kids’ interests, attending her son’s sports games and her daughter’s piano concerts.
Jennifer Gingerich
Chaplain
Helmwood Healthcare Center
Helmwood Healthcare is pleased to have Rev. Jennifer Gingerich as its Executive Chaplain. Having grown up in Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio and Georgia, Jennifer is delighted to make her home in Kentucky. An ordained minister of the Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA), she received her training at Davidson College in North Carolina and at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Jennifer has worked at Presbyterian Homes for six years, first serving on the Louisville campus and now serving Helmwood.
What captivates Jennifer about chaplaincy at Presbyterian Homes is the opportunity it provides to build relationships with interesting older adults. Her work allows her the privilege to hear the stories from people with long and interesting lives. She finds meaning in providing companionship to people through the challenges and joys that come in later years. She learns from their strong faith and is encouraged by the hope they find in it each day.
When asked what impresses her about Helmwood, Jennifer says, “its sense of community and the close relationship between staff members and residents.” She is also excited by the variety of activities available to stimulate the residents – ranging from a trip to the public library, watching a movie or baking cookies to surfing the internet. It is easy to see how Jennifer’s ministry helps to deepen Helmwood’s commitment to resident-centered care.
Jennifer and her husband Mark have one dog and two cats. She enjoys knitting and is quickly becoming an eager backyard gardener.
