HELMWOOD PATIO DEDICATION

December 28th, 2009

A new patio at Helmwood was officially dedicated on November 3, 2009.

A generous gift from Kennard and Melva Peden, who spent their last days at Helmwood, made it possible for us to fashion and supply this beautiful patio with all that was needed to make it an enjoyable place to rest. Furniture, flowers, plants and a memorial garden were all included in the gift. We are blessed by their dedication to the facility.

HELMWOOD SENIOR Q

March 1st, 2010

The third annual Senior Q will be held on August 21, 2010.

Helmwood Healthcare, who has been part of this annual barbeque event since 2008, will be one of three facilities who will host members of the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) this summer. The men of Elizabethtown First Presbyterian Church and Wink’s Smokehouse personnel (a local member of KCBS) will set up their cooking equipment at Helmwood on Friday morning to prepare enough food to feed residents and their families,staff and their families, and volunteers.
