PHSK RECEIVES PIKEVILLE LAND DONATION

A new opportunity to expand PHSK services is beaconing from the eastern part of the state.  Land adjacent to Cedar Creek Assisted Living in Pikeville has been purchased with the intent to build a skilled nursing center.  Due to the generosity of the Chrisman Family, the PHSK ministry can forward its mission of providing homes and services throughout Kentucky, by increasing our ability to serve folks in the Pikeville area. 

On October 19, 2009, a reception was held at the Home Office of PHSK honoring the Chrisman Family for their donation to PHSK.   Past and present board members and PHSK officers gathered to celebrate:

Annual Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk

August 9th, 2010

Helmwood Healthcare will be participating in the annual Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk in Elizabethtown on September 25th, 2010 at Freeman Lake Park.  While the overall target of the local group is $46,000, Helmwood’s goal is to raise $1,000.  This will be achieved through weekly events that include a dunking booth at the Senior Q, casual for a cause day, a car wash, a bake sale, an auction as well as contributions that come from those who actually walk.  Donation boxes will also be set up in the lobby of the center.  Ella Ward, admissions director, Karen Hill, therapist from People First, and Cynthia Miske are co-captains of this endeavor.  A kick-off event will be part of the in-services on August 10th.
