Peggy Davis, a retired instructor from Pikeville College, is teaching a class at Cedar Creek Assisted Living on Appalachian Folk art. The residents are learning to make a doll from apples.
This is the first step in making apple dolls at Cedar Creek.

The week of May 18th – 24th is bead week. The activity staff of Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center is ready for the event. They have ordered beads of every color and size. Residents will be assisted in making jewelry, key chains, and ornaments.

May 24th is Brother’s Day. Activity staff at Good Shepherd Community Nursing Center will assist residents in contacting their brothers via phone, letter, or email just to say “hey.” Family members who visit with our residents throughout the day will be provided refreshments.
